Surrey Health Community Hub

Surrey Health Community Hub

This new centre integrates local mental health services and provides high-quality workspace for clinicians and their teams.

Surrey and Borders Partnership (SABP) aimed to amalgamate their existing mental health services into several convenient locations. A complex system of logistics allows for the consultation rooms to accommodate a mixture of uses, minimising the inefficiencies of unused space, while the open plan office space with adjacent break out rooms give sufficient opportunities for both collaborative and individual work. The existing space was divided in two, giving an ample office space for staff and a collection of consultation spaces which can be used by each user group, depending on the needs of the individual.

The project had a complex mixture of uses. Some of these complemented one another, while others required us to undertake a more complex system of logistics to remove risk from the scheme. It was obtained through an in depth briefing process of breaking down requirements and re-establishing the needs of each user group. SABP have been able to accommodate seven services, previously located in separate buildings, into one place. It allowed for efficiency in terms of cost and maintenance, along with giving a single, clear identity to users.
